Greetings Parents, Families, and Friends of St. Joseph School,
May the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ be with each of you! It is my sincerest pleasure to greet you as the new principal of St. Joseph School. I feel so blessed to be able to join this community and continue the great work taking place here. I have gotten to know Dr. Snyder over the past few years and he always spoke so highly and with much love for the St. Joseph community. As summer school progressed, I witnessed and experienced the love, pride, and joy for learning and living our faith together as one from the St. Joseph’s community.
This next school year marks my fourteenth year in education. I spent several years working with the De La Salle Christian Brothers in Oakland and Chicago; first as a long-term volunteer, and then a teacher. For the past seven years, I worked at Saint Anne as a middle school teacher, and for the past few years as Assistant Principal. While at Saint Anne, I helped coach the staff and students in the latest and ever-changing educational technology as well as worked with the staff and administration to build a culture of collaboration and data-driven instruction. I look forward to bringing my skills to the school and working with you as a partner to support the learning and growth of all of our students.
Over the past few weeks, I have seen at first hand, there is a clear collaborative environment between all members – parents, teachers, graduates, and countless others – to work together to strengthen and support the educational, moral, and spiritual experience for each child. I have heard many great things about our parents and the active role they take in the school community. With the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue this positive and supportive environment for our students to flourish in. I have enjoyed meeting the students, parents, and many of the staff members already, and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you on the first day of school.
As your new principal, it is important to me that everyone who enters the doors of St. Joseph feels welcomed and excited to be here! I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity and will work my hardest to support and strengthen our three fundamental elements of faith, academics, and community, and become a REAL Dragon. Together, we will combine our deep-rooted traditions with current best practices to support the spiritual, moral, and academic development of each student to prepare them for success in today’s and tomorrow’s world. Working together as a team is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success. I highly value home/school communication, so please do not hesitate to contact me if or when the need arises.
Please enjoy the rest of your summer and know that I will be praying for each of you. I ask for your prayers and support as we embark on this new journey together.
In the peace of Christ,
Ms. Kelly Botto, Principal
